  1. This was part of a college project which involved rebranding a packaging of choice. I chose Tayto Cheese & Onion, Irelands most popular and biggest selling packet of crisps/chips. I wanted to create a more friendly packaging which is why I’ve made the Mr. Tayto character flat rather than having the 3D effect and brought in the patterns of him. The packaging is fairly simple. The zebra pattern on the back is part of a coupon for Tayto Park which is a wild life zoo and theme park type of thing

  2. I really love it! Awesome work. One question though – different countries use different colours for chip flavours – there’s a whole debate over whether salt and vinegar is blue or green etc. Anyway, the colour/flavour combination is quite important, and I didn’t see any blue on your redesign that would indicate the flavour?

  3. I have to say I really like it. Could possibly do with some refinement/tweaking like others have suggested to make the wave a bit more friendly, but overall I think you did a great job. Goes really well with the current trend on retro design – would make a good portfolio piece imo. Might be worth your time mocking up some more flavours 🙂

  4. Think that I don’t think works is the stripes. It makes sense when you read why but from a purely visual aspect no. Without knowing the Tayto park info it’s out of place.

  5. I really like it!

My only pedantic suggestions would be Mr Tayto himself looks just ever so *slightly* menacing/angry – only slightly! Maybe it’s the nose or something. He has to look instantly friendly. The Nazi arm has already been mentioned by others.

The TAYTO logo itself could be slightly bigger IMO.

    Lovely otherwise.

  6. I think looking at it, there might be a few too many mr taytos checkered in the BG on the front imo. I’d maybe space them out a bit more or maybe add in a few tayto logos to make it look a bit different and slightly less busy?

And maybe a logo for tayto park on the back? And if I was being super critical, in black and white, the tiger print came across as zebra for a minute, and I dont think they have any zebras. But I quite like it still.

Great design though, I like it more than what we have atm tbh
