  1. Graphic designer for film and tv here. The usual way that happens is that set dec just prints some stuff out from Istock without bothering the graphic designer or checking it too closely. Stock sites have some interesting looking posters but the text is almost always lipsum. The graphic designer(s) often have bigger fish to fry than incidental background posters , but those can sometimes end up being featured.

  2. what’s worse in the Amazon show The Patriot there are scenes where characters look at their phones for some sort of text message then have an emotional reaction. But when the camera looks at the message it’s just a blank screen. Someone totally forgot to have text added.

  3. While watching Atypical on Netflix I couldn’t help but notice that one of the posters on the wall still had Lorem Ipsum on it. Do you think this was left due to laziness, a lack of knowing, or on purpose?

  4. While I am no longer as militant about it, I have often tried to avoid even using Lorem Ipsum in the first place mainly because I dislike the way it looks and find that if you know what the copyright is going to be before hand, you will tend to better typesetting that is more natural looking. There is few instances that I come across doing entire sites front to back where I don’t have some notion of what the text should actually be or a rough enough sense to not need to use it and in a creative context, as the poster in the image I assume was for someone out there, what better way to call attention to how much one lacks creativity but ever putting Lorem Ipsum where you could have made it say whatever text that is not even hard to imagine if you are truly a creative person who can express themselves at least somewhat in text because you probably use Facebook or Twitter sometimes so you can write a paragraph for sure.
