Usually I prefer to current a couple of choices for any design, and would relatively not purchase pictures or different components till a design’s accepted. However issues look so a lot better with no watermark. What do you do?
You can also remove the watermark pretty easily for proofing purposes. If they approve the design, purchase the image and swap it out.
Use the watermarked images until the final design is accepted. Explain to your client that you will not be paying for the full image until the final design is accepted.
I keep a small subscription that let’s me roll over unused image credits to the next month so I tend to have a large bank of credits. This let’s me pull anything I need like textures or stock images to help with presentations. I don’t always need it, but it’s super nice to have for the times that I do.
I use stock art to save time, or for concept inspiration. I search for a keyword and see what the popular results are and use that as direction.
People can smell generic clip art and photography from a mile away so I avoid it unless it’s just for an internal thing.
Making a moodboard out of images from Unsplash is something I’ve seen people do, and I’ve personally used Unsplash for a ton of things so it might be good to check it out even tho it’s a free website.
