AIGA membership price

As in, looking for worth with becoming a member of AIGA at $250 (or $500 for the doubtful “Chief” stage) when most precise skilled licensures are a lot, a lot much less cash for larger profit and / or for state licensure.

Sincere query: How can AIGA justify that sort of cash for membership? Am I lacking one thing?

  1. Honestly, I have yet to figure out the answer to your question myself. All I can say is that there are still a lot of AIGA things you can participate in without being a member (events, mentorship, blog/newsletter access, etc). If you need to access their job dashboard for any reason that might be worth paying for.

  2. Repeating the caption portion because it gets lost under the pic:

As in, trying to find value with joining AIGA at $250 (or $500 for the dubious “Leader” level) when most actual professional licensures are much, much less money for greater benefit and / or for state licensure.

Honest question: How can AIGA justify that kind of money for membership? Am I missing something?

  3. The discount on Adobe was good. The group insurance was decent if you are freelance. There are some other perks that make it worth it. If you join I would say it’s worth getting involved in your local chapter. That’s a fast lane to getting into good jobs.
